Story
Evolve's main storyline revolves around an extraction team made up of ex-soldiers that have been sent to planet Shear to extract as many of the people stuck there while investigating the wildlife and figuring out what is killing the people.
Gameplay
Evolve is a four versus one game where you can choose to play as one of the four, on the human team or you can play as the monster. If you decide to play as a human you can choose one of four classes to play with - Assault, Medic, Support and Trapper. Each class has its own role and unique kind of gameplay. On the other hand, you can choose to play as a Monster that has the capability to evolve, depending on how much wildlife or how many humans you get to consume. This concept is truly unique and brings to the genre the kind of asymmetry we could get used to.
The game also has large maps which help make traps unique as you don't always trap the monster in the same location. When you play as the monster, the play-style for each monster is different and hence you must adapt to your monster before you can master it.
As far as I can tell the game has no skill ranking system. This is essential to bring some balance into the gameplay. The absense of the skill ranking system makes certain matches too easy and others too difficult at random which is something I feel needs to be changed. Another layer of randomness comes in because of the fact that you cannot see what monster you will be playing against and adjust your hunters to that monster. This can be especially frustrating when you go up against a skilled Kraken or even a Wraith for that matter because you would want to have certain hunters to be able to counter that monster's style.
Graphics
Evolve is a beautiful game with top visuals and animations. The effort in the graphics is clear throughout the game while not compromising on the smoothness of gameplay.
DLC & Pricing
The game is available online on Flipkart for Rs 799 after a 20% discount. The game additionally charges for hunters and monsters as well as cosmetic skins.While not necessary to enjoy the game it feels a little like the game provided few hunters and monsters while making you pay for the rest. The game as it is has a small campaign and is mainly focused at multiplayer. It seems unfair to charge for what should be available with the game.
