As part of the web browser's 10th anniversary today, Firefox has released a slew of new items to try out, including a new tenth anniversary edition.

DuckDuckGo is a new search feature Mozilla recently debuted, allowing users a personalized search engine without retaining any intrusive information, in addition to a new Forget feature that instructs Firefox to erase any recent activity through the browser. The anniversary edition adds a walkthrough for these features, along with a few other to play around with.

Another new initiative is the Polaris program, Joining Mozilla with the Centre for Democracy and Technology, and the Tor Project, to improve secure internet access and privacy online. Add to this a new Firefox Developer Edition, which runs in an alternate profile alongside your regular Firefox browser, has quicker access to developer tools, and the Valence add-on, to sync your tools with Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS.

Mozilla also says it is now attempting, as it did with Microsoft in the early days of the internet, to "tackle the strugge for a free Web on mobile", a market currently ruled solely by iOS and Android.  In line with this aim, they have released a new version of their mod-friendly smartphone OS, Firefox 2.0, today.
