The star player set to grace the next instalment of EA Sports' long-running soccer game franchise will be decided by public vote

To ensure that that the star player in question is truly international, rather than simply a cult hero, such as Northern Ireland's Will Grigg, who found huge fame at this summer's Euro 2016 tournament in France, EA is giving gaming and soccer fans a choice of four stars to choose from - James Rodriguez of Real Madrid C.F., Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC, or Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund.
In order to simplify the voting process, EA has set up a special site - FIFA Cover Vote. Fans will be able to log on, starting to day and vote for the player they want to see on the next instalment of the game.
No votes will be accepted after July 19 and EA will reveal the winner and the FIFA 17 cover before the end of the month.
"We're excited to see fans rally around their favourite players and see who they select as the cover star for the franchise, and the footballer who will represent FIFA 17 globally., said Nick Channon, Senior Producer for EA Sports FIFA.
