Facebook updates News Feed to offer more interesting content

Facebook announced a series of updates had been made to the News Feed feature following the results of their Feed Quality Program study. With the updates, more importance will be attributed to the time spent viewing a post from the feed, not just a user's interaction with it (like, share, comment).

Diversity will also be prioritized, following feedback that users disliked seeing too much content from the same source on their News Feed.

The rollout of these updates to the News Feed will take place over the next few weeks.
