Facebook will soon reduce the number of likes every page has from accounts that have been deactivated and the one's owned by people who have died will be removed.

According to the Independent, it is not yet clear as to how many likes will be reduced from each page. The process of removing likes is due to begin in a few weeks.

Facebook will only remove likes from those accounts that have been manually deactivated, leaving those that have been deactivated as a result of being dormant.

Earlier in December, Instagram removed followers from many accounts, reducing counts by 15%. Facebook only expects a "slight dip" in the number of followers.
