Facebook is reportedly testing a new feature that lets users find nearby free WiFi hotspots. Currently, the feature is only available for a few users on the iOS version of the app, meaning that the social network is rolling the new feature out in phases.
“To help people stay connected to the friends and experiences they care about, we are rolling out a new feature that surfaces open Wi-Fi networks associated with nearby places,” a Facebook spokesperson told VentureBeat.
A Facebook user who’s smartphone has been updated with the new feature has tweeted an image of the new feature:

Facebook hasn't announced any plans to release this feature worldwide. The tech giants will also want to refine the feature before the final release. However, one thing is certain, this feature has numerous potential benefits especially in developing countries with limited access to the Internet.
