The Lok Sabha elections are here and will follow through the month of May with India's populace turning up in huge numbers to exercise their electoral rights.

While, the Election Commission has to manage 814 million Indians by issuing their cards, registering them and recording votes in a free and democratic manner, it also has to target new voters to participate in the election process.

There are 543 constituencies and 9.3 lakh polling stations set up across the country.

With majority of new voters preferring NOTA or refraining from voting, EC has made the registration process easier and tech-savvy.

EC has released an official app for Windows Phone which makes it easier for anybody having a Windows Phone to apply for a new voter card or get rectifications done.

This app will pick your location and suggest the near Electoral office. Its simple and easy to use the app. The registration details used for election Commission's website can be used here too. This includes your mobile phone number, e-mail address and a verification code that is sent to your phone.

The app is swift, able to load data and forms and functions in real-time based on your internet usage. EC has a similar app for Andriod users too.
