To bring forward the challenges, upcoming technologies and their implementation related to Mobile Communication and Computing, Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET) ECE Department started its first International Conference on ‘Mobile Communication and Embedded Technology’ (MECON-2013) in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology (DST), technically sponsored by International Union of Radio Science (USRI) on January 17-18, 2013 at Amity University Campus in Noida.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Balvinder Shukla, Acting Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh opined that Mobile and Technology is an important area in today’s world. Human being is the most exquisite creature on earth who has invented the concept of Mobile Technology and his one of the most fruitful creation is wireless communication which opens up many areas for every business.

Cordless, Satellite etc. are also one of those creations which have become the most important techniques with hundreds of its related areas. Embedded system industries have brought revolution in the industry. New researches & new developments are important and expected to happen in near future.

Delivering his speech, CS Rao, President, Reliance Communications said that we are at the dawn of the digital age. Whether we talk of business transactions, business communication, entertainment or any other services, technology is being embedded everywhere. Internet at one place is no more a restriction.

Mobile handset has got the power & has multiple services and applications like Android, Push Mail services etc. Telecom is definitely empowering every part of society. About 2 billion subscribers access internet through various devices. Most of the users have electric devices around them. Mobility is no more a restriction.

Each one of us is experiencing good quality. We all need much higher speed, therefore, to have high quality of experience. Availability of Spectrum is restricted & reserved by the satellite industry. Most important question which needs to be explored by students is “How to increase the spectrum and output”.

Expressing his views Dr Radim Burget, BRNO University, Czech Republic said that we all are living in digital era now. Everything at our home and offices is digital and this revolution has come through mobile communication and embedded technology. Digital world is the language of today but there is still a scope of improvisation.

While delivering the key notes Dr Vinod Sharma, IISc, Bangalore said that mobile communication and embedded technology is very important in India. Mobile and embedded system play very important role. Be up to date about the industry. Interact with the industry leaders. He also suggested students to indulge in more personal & in depth interactions with the experienced industry speakers.

The research papers which will be presented during MECON-2013 were also released during the inauguration session which will be published in “The International Journal of Computer Applications, New York, USA.
