Asus launched a new version of the ZenFone Max today with a few upgraded specifications. What is impressive is the fact that even though the device is updated, it is available at the same price. Being under Rs 10,000, we take a look at some of the other devices and compare, how exactly does the Asus ZenFone Max stack up against them.

Asus ZenFone Max

Asus just introduced an updated version of the ZenFone Max. Following the same price tag, the device includes updated specifications such as an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor instead of the quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor spotted on the previous model. The device also sports an internal storage of 32GB, a slight increase from the previous 16GB. Lastly, the new smartphone features the latest Android Marshmallow. The idea to have an affordable smartphone running the latest Android OS was impressive. Asus opted for the two most required hardware upgrades, and yet, kept the same price. Apart from these, the device features a 5.5-inch display, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front facing camera along with the massive 5000 mAh battery.

The Asus Zenfone Max starts at Rs 9,999 and is available via Flipkart

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus

The company’s Vibe K5 Plus is easy on the eyes. Compared to the ZenFone Max, Lenovo’s Vibe K5 Plus opts for a 5-inch screen and comes powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor paired with 2GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 16GB and can only be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card, which is a bitter disappointment. Similar to the Asus ZenFone Max, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. It is powered by a 2750mAh battery, quite low compared the 5000mAh spotted on the Max.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus starts at Rs 8,499 and is available via Flipkart

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

Xiaomi’s most popular Redmi Note 3 had to make it to the list. Also sporting a 5-inch display, the device comes packed with a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, paired with 2GB RAM, as seen on the Vibe K5 Plus. The device includes an internal storage of 16GB but can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Just as the above two, the Redmi Note 3 sports a 13MP rear camera with the 5MP front facing camera. The smartphone packs in a powerful 4100mAh non removable battery as well.

LeEco le 1s Eco

The recently launched Le 1s Eco by LeEco sports a 5.5-inch display with a Full-HD display, powered by a 1.85GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor. It is paired with a 3GB RAM. However, the smartphone includes an internal storage of 32GB, sans microSD card. Again, the smartphone includes a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. A 3000mAh non removable battery completes the package.

Samsung Galaxy On7

Samsung’s Galaxy On7 also makes it to the list of budget-friendly smartphones. It is powered by an older 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor paired with a mere 1.5GB RAM. What would be worst is that it includes an internal storage of 8GB, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Yet again, similar to the ZenFone Max, Samsung has opted for a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. One will find a 3000mAh removable battery on the Samsung Galaxy On7.

The Samsung Galaxy On7 starts at Rs 10,190 and is available via Flipkart
