With the new iPhone 7 Plus and it’s dual cameras, Apple has gone all out in its attempt to put DSLR capabilities into a smartphone? So just how well have they done?
Well, now you can see for yourself. On Sunday, Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted a link to Sports Illustrated, with images of an NFL game taken from an iPhone 7 Plus by resident photographer David Klutho. Another tweet on Monday had pictures by ESPN’s Landon Nordeman, also taken on Apple’s new flagship.

The results are remarkable, with great clarity despite all the objects zipping past the lens. While it seems like SI’s photos are rife with jagged edges in the distance, it’s probably safe to chalk that up to the harsh sunlight in the frames, especially when taking a look at ESPN’s shots, which just look magnificent.
To recap, the iPhone 7 Plus is the first smartphone from Apple with dual 12MP rear cameras; a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens with up to 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. In addition, Apple has also put in a new image signal processor capable of calculating over 100 billion operations in 25 milliseconds.
