At CES 2017, Sony introduced their long-awaited OLED TV. It was accompanied by two LED TVs, 4K Blu-Ray player, Bluetooth speakers and an AV receiver. Prices and launch dates have not been announced.
The new flagship XBR-A1E BRAVIA OLED and XBR-X930E/X940E series TVs use 4K HDR content with Sony’s image processor and display technologies. Talking about the XBR-A1E BRAVIA OLED series, it offers an entertainment experience which is powered by the company’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, which claims to be the world’s first Acoustic Surface sound system. The 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme precisely controls the number of pixels and extends the capability of OLED to deliver 4K HDR picture.
On the specification front, the A1E Series 4K HDR OLED TV is offered in 77-inch, 65-inch, and 55-inch Class models. It features expanded color with TRILUMINOS Display and uses a 4K X-Reality PRO to produce detail with Sony’s algorithm of reality creation database for any content.
In terms of design, the A1E series does not include conventional speakers usually located around the TV. Hence, the set is a stand-less form factor with no distraction from the picture. The series include Android TV - lets you explore movies, music, photos, games, search, apps and more.
Voice Search to find content, ask questions and control your TV. With Chrome Cast built-in, you can easily send content from your smartphone or tablet to the TV. With access to Google Play™, you can enjoy what they like to do on a smartphone or tablet, from their TV. With Google Home compatibility, voice-control the TV via the Google Home device for a smarter connected home.
On the other hand, the X930E Series is offered in 65-inch and 55-inch class 4K HDR TV class models. It features a slim backlight drive + with a quad-edge LED structure. The X-tended Dynamic Range PRO enhances HDR and non-HDR content by boosting and dimming the backlight levels.
With Chrome Cast built-in, users can send content from the smartphone or tablet to the TV and with Google Home compatibility, users can voice-control the TV via the Google Home device for a smarter connected home.
