One of the most interesting and original major studio games of 2016 is offering a 48-hour free trial on all platfoms.

Between Friday, November 18 and Monday, November 21 flagship Blizzard team-based first-person shooter game "Overwatch," its full roster of 22 characters plus its 13 locations are being opened up to any and all to try.

All they'll need to access the game is an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or a suitably powerful PC.

Set many years in the future, "Overwatch" features a global team of heroes working together in an attempt to restore peace around the world and has racked up some of the best reviews of any game release since it debuted in May.

Although it's not the first time Blizzard has offered gamers a free weekend trial it is the first time that the invitation has been extended to PC gamers as well as those with latest-generation consoles.

As well as announcing the free weekend, Blizzard also confirmed that anyone that decides to buy the game after the trial will be able to pick up exactly where they left off.
