Barking deer found in cattleshed

JALPAIGURI: A resident of a Jalpaiguri village literally stumbled on a barking deer, a rare animal in north Bengal, when he opened the door of his cattle shed and found one there sleeping among his cows on Wednesday.
     
Manik Joshi tied the animal to a post in his home at Deodanga village and informed the forest department personnel who arrived at the spot and took away the barking deer.
     
As the news of the presence of the barking deer spread a large number of villagers trooped in to his cattle shed  to see it.
