ASUS launches new ZenFone 2 models at Zen Festival in New Delhi

ASUS launched the ZenFone 2 Laser for Rs 9,999, among other models.

ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih today announced five new ASUS products at the Zen Festival 2015 in New Delhi. The event was held in tandem with the ASUS global launch event. Shih took the stage along with ASUS Design Center Director, Jen Chuang, to make the announcements.


1. ZenFone 2 Deluxe
The ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML) features a new polygonal design back panel with a 5.5­inch Full HD IPS display, and 13MP/5MP rear and front cameras. It packs a 2.3GHz 64­bit Intel Atom processor with 4GB RAM, 3000mAh battery and 4G LTE connectivity. The ZenFone 2 Deluxe also features ASUS BoostMaster fast­charge technology for 60% capacity in 39 minutes and will be available in 64Gb and 128Gb storage variants. It will be, like all the other new ASUS phones, running Zen UI over Android Lollipop and will be available for Rs 22,999.


2. ZenFone 2 Laser
The ZenFone 2 Laser has a 13MP f/2.0 rear cam with laser auto focus and a dual LED flash, and a 5MP front cam. It comes in three versions:

  • The 5­inch (1280x720p) ZE500KL with 2400mAh battery, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad­core, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage for Rs 9,999
  • 5.5” (1280x720p) ZE550KL with 3000mAh battery, 1.2GHz quad­core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage  for Rs 13,999
  • And the 6” (1920x1080p) ZE601KL with 3GB RAM for R 17,999

All three version have storage expandable to 128GB and are 4G enabled.


3. ZenFone Selfie
The ZenFone Selfie has a 5.5” 1080p display at 403ppi, 13MP front (f/2.2) and rear (f/2.0) cam with dual LED flash on both, and a 3000mAh battery. It comes with 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage (expandable up to 128GB), Gorilla Glass 4, and is 4G enabled for Rs 15,999


4. ZenFone Max
The ZenFone Max is a battery­saving gem, with a massive 5000mAh battery in the hull, that also works as a power bank for other devices. It has a 5.5­inch IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4, a 64­bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with up to 2GB of RAM, 13MP/5MP cameras with  laser auto­focus. This will be available later in October, and no price has been announced just yet.


5. ZenPad
ZenPad is the first tablet to feature an interchangeable cover design that lets users easily customize their tablet with functional back covers. These can provide extra features and additional color options. Zen Clutch is a carrying and protection solution, Zen Case lets users outfit ZenPad in their choice of five colours, Audio Cover brings immersive 5.1­channel surround sound to the tablet, and Power Case extends ZenPad’s battery life, giving users up to 16 hours of usage. The ZenPad is available with LTE/3G connectivity and phone functionality or as a Wi-Fi ­only model.

  • The ZenPad 7.0 (Z370C) has a 7” (1280x800p) display with Gorilla Glass 1, a 64­bit quad­core Intel Atom x3­C3200 processor, 1GB/2GB RAM, 8GB/16GB storage, 8MP/2MP rear and front cams and a 13Wh battery.
  • The ZenPad (Z380C) has the same specs but comes with an 8” display n the same resolution.
