On Thursday, Apple opened up testing of its next-generation desktop and smartphone operating systems to the general public.

As well as a new naming convention, macOS Sierra promises integration with Siri, the company's virtual assistant, Apple Pay in the browser, and even tighter and more useful integration between Mac computers, and iPhones and iPads. For example you can copy text on the iPhone's screen and paste it to that of your Mac. The new OS will also let you unlock your Mac using your Apple Watch.

The iOS 10 beta, meanwhile, will bring new features like “Raise to Wake”, a redesigned messaging app, Smart Home app and more

The free download is available on Apple's website, but make sure you do a full backup of everything on your device before starting the install process.
