Apple, Android top sellers in US mobile market: Report

Apple and Android are reportedly the top leaders in the US mobile space, a new report by comScore has revealed.

The firm revealed that Apple dominated as the top US smartphone maker for the start of 2014, while Android was the top US mobile platform.

According to Cnet, Apple's iPhones capture 41.6% of the US market, while Samsung came close second with 26.7% share, followed by LG with 6.9%.

However, when it comes to OS manufacturing, Google's Android came out as the ultimate winner, leading the market with 51.7% share of US smartphone platforms, followed second by Apple's iOS with 41.6%, Windows Phone and BlackBerry OS with 3.2% and 3.1% respectively.

The firm further noted that Google's sites were top destinations for mobile browsers, visited by nearly 90% of US mobile users, followed by Facebook at 87%, the report added.
