Android app ‘YouTube Kids’ to be released on Monday with child-centric channels

YouTube has designed a new application especially for children called 'YouTube Kids' with channels aimed at youngsters and will be released on Monday.

According to the Verge, the app will have original episodes of TV shows for children and will also have a timer so parents can stop their kids from watching for too long.

At first, the app will only be available on Android and will be different from the regular YouTube application. There is a child-friendly design with big, bulbous icons and minimal scrolling on the app.

Its home screen has large tiles featuring images from popular TV shows and four icons for shows, music, learning, and explore.
