Amrita Sher-Gil remembered on her 103rd birthday with simple Google doodle

Google doodle honours painter Amrita Sher-Gil on her 103rd birthday by creating their version of her famous painting Three Girls.

Amrita Sher-Gil, born to Indian-Hungarian parents in 1913, is often dubbed as India's Frida Kahlo. Sher-Gil studied at the Ecole Des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she painted 'Three Girls' after her return from Europe which shaped her bohemian life. She won the Gold Medal at the annual exhibition of the Bombay Art Society in 1937.

In the later years of her life, Sher-Gil's work became a clear salute to feminine form.

For the doodle, Jennifer Hom at google, reworked the image of 'Three Girls' to match the tone, texture, and colour of the skin and clothing.
