Yahoo on November 22,2014 announced the launch of Flickr wall art in the International markets. The idea behind wall art is to take photos from renowned photographers from around the world and recreate its effect on the walls of your home. Yahoo has made 50 million such images available for the Flickr wall art.

Now, users can not only turn their personal photostream into museum-quality prints to hang on walls but once can also order hand-selected collections from Creative Commons images and Flickr’s licensed artists. 

This is the first time that the Flickr community can purchase the work of Flickr’s licensed artists directly on the photo sharing platform and in turn, these photographers can also sell their work directly. The photographers are part of Filckr Marketplace.  

An official spokes person of Yahoo said that NASA Goddard, one of the most popular accounts on Flickr includes infrared solar flares, gaseous galaxies, and stunning satellite images of Earth that many have already ordered for print.

To use the wall art feature one can find the icon on the platform which on clicking lets one select from a 8 by 10 inches to an super sized 20 by 30 size for print. Along with the different sizes these photos can be printed on professional grade paper, mounted with 1 inch wood-textured edges or the Gallery Canvas Wrap, artist-grade canvas stretched across a traditional 1.25” wood frame.
