Apple announced the next generation iPhone called the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus, the successors to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus and the most powerful iPhone yet. These devices come with a whole lot of upgrades like 3D Touch, 12MP iSight Camera and the 5MP Facetime camera to name a few. The screen on the phones were toughened and the body is now made of 7000 series Aluminum, the same used in the aerospace industry.

But how does the best iPhone fare against the flagships from the Android stable? Let's find out

Sony Xperia Z5 and the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact

If there is one company that is on the same page as Apple when it comes to making smartphones, it would be Sony. Just like the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus, Sony has the Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5. The two smartphones from Sony have roughly the same specifications but differ in the display size just the two iPhones. The Z5 and the Z5 Compact sport the Snapdragon 810 Octa Core Processor which is currently the flagship processor from Qualcomm. While the iPhones get 12MP iSight Camera with Focus Pixels the Sony twins get a 23MP camera with Hybrid AutoFocus. The Xperia smartphones are water resistant and have an IP68 rating, something that isn't available on the Apple devices. Sony promises 2 day of battery life on these phones when compared to the 1 day battery on the iPhone 6s and the 2 battery on the iPhone 6s Plus. Just like the Apple devices the Xperia Z5 and the Z5 Compact have fingerprint scanners and can be unlocked just by swiping the finger.

LG G4

The flagship from LG has been in the news for the brilliant camera. The device has one of best camera in the market, a strong competitor for the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. The camera on the LG G4 is a 16 megapixel sensor with Laser Autofocus and Optical Image Stabilization. The iPhone 6s Plus has the 12MP iSight Camera with Optical Image Stabilization.Size wise the LG G4 is a 5.5 inch device and it seems fair only to compare it to the iPhone 6s Plus. The G4 has a Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels while the iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with 3D touch being the advantage. The G4 lacks the fingerprint sensor that is present on flagships from other manufacturers.

Samsung Galaxy S6

The Samsung Galaxy S6 launched earlier this year looks like a complete package if we forgive the average battery performance on the device. The Galaxy S6 has an Exynos processor made by Samsung which is among the fastest Android phones in the market. The device also gets a fingerprint scanner and can be used to unlock the device and also used for apps. Just like Apple Pay, Samsung also offers Samsung Pay that can be used to pay at a point of sale. The camera on the device is quite impressive as well a 16MP camera sensor sits at the back along with a heart rate sensor that can also be used as a trigger to click pics. The battery on the phone is small at 2500mAh but it comes with a fast charger in the box. The Samsung has a 5 megapixel front facing camera which is quite similar to the 5 megapixel Facetime camera on the iPhone 6s.

OnePlus 2

The OnePlus 2 is one other flagship that can take on the new iPhone 6s, the OnePlus was a much awaited device after the success of the OnePlus One but was met with mixed reviews. The OnePlus 2 is the cheapest device out of all the devices we have in the comparison and brings a lot to the table. The phone has a powerful Octa Core Processor in form of the Snapdragon 810 and gets 4GB of RAM (for the 64GB model). The phone has a 13 megapixel camera at the back and is capable of doing 4K video recording just like the iPhone 6s. One of the unique points about the OnePlus would be the new USB Type C port on the phone, the cable can be connected upside down as well. The battery on the device is rated at 3300mAh and should be able to soldier on much longer than the others discussed till this point. The OnePlus also has a dedicated silent button just like the iPhone 6s and the phone can be put on silent just by flicking the switch.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was launched a few weeks ago and is the current flagship from the Note series. The Note 5 sports a 5.7 inch display with a QuadHD display; the bigger size allows it to accommodate a massive 4100mAh battery. The Note goes up against the iPhone 6s Plus and one major difference we see is the presence of the stylus in the Note. The stylus is quite useful if you like to take notes or sketch on your phone. The Note 5 has a 16 megapixel camera sensor at the back and a 5 megapixel camera at the front. Performance isn't as issue as it has the same Exynos processor like the Samsung Galaxy S6 but has 4GB of RAM to perform without hiccups.

What would your choice be? One of the newly launched iPhones? or a flagship from the Android stable?
