24 revolutionary tech products and services born during Sachin Tendulkar's career

With his unbeatable records and millions of fan following, Sachin Tendulkar has come a long way. From being a complete nobody to the 'God of Cricket', Sachin deserves every bit of accolade given to him. However, alongside Sachin, technology also conquered quite a bit in these recent years. To mark the 24 years of Sachin’s momentous career, we compiled a list of 24 technological achievements that are going to accompany the masterblaster in the history books. After all, great things happen around great people.

1. The very first Game Boy was invented in 1989.
Nintendo's baby was the very first portable gaming device that could be played anywhere and ran on batteries. It had limited black and white features.

2. We got the World Wide Web (www) in 1990.
After years of research, Tim Berners-Lee published a formal proposal (on 12 November 1990) to build a "Hypertext project" called "WorldWideWeb." The first ever website was published on August 6, 1991.

3. Digital answering machine were born in 1991.
The digital answering machine was invented back in 1991. People are still using digital answering machines in this day and age, several decades after the invention of this device. Kazuo Hashimoto is responsible for this helpful invention! Sachin Tendulkar also won his first Man of the Match award in this year!

4. Technology came to the rescue in 1992.
DNA fingerprinting was invented in this year. It is revolutionary because it is even used now to solve crimes and remove suspicion. Technology, just like Sachin Tendulkar has healing powers.
 
5. The world got its first smartphone in 1993.
Bellsouth and IBM announced their creation of the Simon, the world's first smartphone. Simon was designed to be a cellphone first and a computer second. Simon was one huge smartphone.
 
6. Java,  a programming language, came to life  in 1994.
 
7. Internet Explorer 1.0 in 1995.
The first version of Internet Explorer came out on August 16,1995.

8. The first ever flip phone came out in 1996
The Moto StarTac was the first ever flip-phone. Weighing in at just 3.1-ounces, it was the smallest and lightest handset ever, and incorporated vibrating alerts for the first time.
 
9.1997 saw the rise of Wifi
Wifi changed the way we used the internet. Vic Hayes pioneered the team effort that resulted the invention of WiFi in 1997.
 
10. 1998 gave us Google
Google Inc was formally incorporated on September 4, 1998 by Larry Page and Sergie Brin. Type 'Google in 1998' for a blast to the past. Thank God for Google! By 'God' I mean Sachin, the God of Cricket.
 
11. Napster was launched in 1999
One of the first online companies that allowed sharing of music content. Napster became popular in no time. At its peak the Napster service had about 80 million registered users. However, due to copyright infringement and many other illegal practices, Napster lost its zeal and finally filed for bankruptcy in 2002.
 
12. We are thankful to 2000 for giving us Bluetooth
For months after Jabra’s bluetooth headset hit the market, we were all freaked out by the people wandering around in public talking to themselves. The bluetooth has probably saved countless lives, freeing hands for that all important thing called steering.

14. In 2002, Cameras entered your phone
Never knew that was not a reality before 2002! Remember the old film-using cameras?

. Maybe because Sachin Tendulkar won the Man of the Series award for the Cricket World Cup.

Sadly, the awesome influence of Sachin Tendulkar was minimal in 2013. The announcement of his retirement from international cricket got the entire country to Mumbai to watch the Master Blaster bat for the last time.
