Ever wondered what if you had telepathic powers to communicate, life would be so much easier! Embrace yourselves as your dream is about to become a reality now.

Brain surgeon Dr Eric Leuthardt of Washington University thinks we may soon be able to communicate telepathically. According to a Daily Mail report, Dr Leuthardt said in the near future humans will soon be able to easily get brain implants which will allow us to share information and knowledge with others.

The neurosurgeon said that a new breed of superhumans that can communicate using their own thoughts will soon be a reality. These telepathic superhumans will transfer the knowledge or information directly to other people and machines by brain implants. He also predicts that getting a brain surgeon will be as easy and common as getting a tattoo or plastic surgery in the near future.

"A true fluid neural integration is going to happen. It’s just a matter of when. If it’s 10 or 100 years in the grand scheme of things, it’s a material development in the course of human history," Dr Leuthardttold MIT Technology Review.

He believes that at the rate the technology is growing and changing, 'it's not inconceivable to think that in a 20-year time frame everything in a cell phone could be put into a grain of rice'.

"At the pace at which technology changes, it’s not inconceivable to think that in a 20-year time frame everything in a cell phone could be put into a grain of rice. That could be put into your head in a minimally invasive way, and would be able to perform the computations necessary to be a really effective brain-computer interface,"

Besides being a neurosurgeon, Dr Leuthardt is also a novelist and published two novels till now and also written a play that centers around the topic of 'preparing society for the changes ahead'.

RedDevil 4, his first techo-thriller novel, reveals that around 90% of our brain consists of computer hardware.

In his novels, he has given us a clear picture of his excellent understand of the limitations of the brain and how technology can help overcome those limitations.

SpaceX boss Elon Musk is also developing a bionic device that would be embedded into the brain and grow over time, with its primary function being to optimise mental output through a brain-computer interface. Theoretically, with this in your head, you’d be able to access the Internet without the need for an external smart device, and even process complex calculations as fast as a supercomputer.
