The CID (crime) has tightened noose around homoeopath-turned-Godman Ashok Jadeja, who allegedly duped a large number of people from his Chhara community, promising them to triple their money.

More and more skeletons are coming out of cupboard as Jadeja, who is in police custody, is revealing his nefarious activities to the cops. The police have found that Jadeja had invested money in dabba trade too.

"Jadeja has invested around Rs4.5 crore in dabba trade and had purchased four cars worth Rs1 crore with the money gained through this activity," a CID (crime) source told DNA. The police have also found that Jadeja had a passion for cars and has around 10 cars.

According to police, Hakam Chhara had done transactions worth over Rs300 crore during past three months. Out of this amount, he distributed Rs240 crore among people and kept Rs82 crore with him. "Hakam is among the main agents of Jadeja who was taking money from the people," the police source said.

The investigating agency has also found that apart from Chharas, many people from the slums of Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Ahmedabad have lost their money in the scam.

"Patanis, Kolis and Dalits of Bhavnagar have given money to Jadeja. Chunaras and Nuts of Rajkot too have invested large amount in the Jadeja's scheme," sources said.
The police have recovered a silver stick from a house in Sarkhej. "Jadeja used to say that he could predict everything with the help of this stick and could cure people with this magic stick," sources said.
