Three arrested in illegal LPG trade

Three persons allegedly involved in illegal LPG trade were arrested and 92 gas cylinders were seized on Sunday following a raid in Bhuiyandih area here. Acting on a tip-off, a police team recovered the LPG cylinders stored in a godown by Parmanand Dubey, police said.

In connivance with the employees of three gas agencies, Dubey allegedly used to extract 2-3 kgs of gas from each cyclinder and thus filled up empty ones, which were later sold
in the market, sources said.
    
Out of the 92 seized cylinders, seven of them were commercial ones (about 19 kgs each), while the rest were for domestic purposes. The godown have been sealed. Dubey, however, managed to flee, they said.
