Six Dera Sacha Sauda followers were injured on Sunday in a clash with members of another group after a religious congregation near Basant Nagar here, police said.

"The followers of Dera Sacha Sauda were allegedly attacked with naked swords by the members of 'Ek Noor Khalsa' when they came out of a religious congregation 'Naam Charcha' near Basant Nagar in Shimla Puri locality here," they said.

They added that six of them were injured in the attack and three have been admitted to a local hospital.

A case has been registered against the culprits under various Sections of IPC and the situation is under control, police said.

According to eye witnesses, the altercation took place when some followers of the 'Ek Noor Khalsa' raised slogans against Dera chief Baba Gurmit Ram Rahim when they saw the Dera men.

Before the situation could take an uglier turn a police squad arrived on the scene and controlled the situation, they said.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of the 'Ek Noor Khalsa' alleged that they were attacked with bricks by the followers of Dera when they were peacefully demonstrating against the 'anti-Sikh' activities of the Dera.
