Paldi girl sustains gunshot injuries in clash

A man sustained serious injuries after three persons on a motorcycle assaulted him with a sword on Tuesday night at Paldi. The three accused, including Dharmesh Keralian and Raju Hukmaji, attacked Baldev Rabari, a resident of Neeta Apartment in Paldi, with a sword. They also fired shots from a gun, injuring a 14-year-old girl Deepika Patel, who was passing from the road.

A source said that on Tuesday night, Baldev Rabari was sitting with two people near Gaurav dairy in Chandranagar. Meanwhile, three persons arrived on two motorcycles and attacked Rabari with a sword. They even fired four rounds on Rabari and his two associates. While Rabari received serious injuries on his hand, Patel fell victim to the firing and sustained injuries on her leg.

The source further said that on Monday, Rabari had an altercation with Hukmaji and Keralian over a trivial issue near a pan shop. He also informed that Rabari and his brother had lend some money to Keralian and Hukmaji few months back, and even after several months the duo were unable to repay the borrowed amount. This dispute is believed to be one of the reasons for the assault.

DCP Zone I, Brijesh Jha said, "Prima facie the police have come to know that the three persons who attacked Rabari are from Vasna area. More details would be acquired during the course of investigation."
