Walsh to conduct basketball clinic in NIS Patiala

Renowned American basketball coach J D Walsh will conduct a three-day clinic at the Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports (NIS) in Patiala from Friday.

Walsh, who is the founder-director of famous J D Walsh Basketball School in New York, also shared the secret of success in the caging sport with the schoolchildren during a day-long workshop in the national capital.
    
The workshops are being organised in collaboration with the Basketball Federation of India.

Besides, Walsh's school is sponsoring a three-year programme aimed at orphaned youth in India, the first phase of which began in June 2007 in Chinar.

"There is no better way for people to get to know one another than through the competition and teamwork of sports," said Elizabeth Fitzsimmons, Spokesperson at the US Embassy in here.
