Man commits suicide after beating pregnant wife to death

A man allegedly committed suicide after beating his pregnant wife to death over a dispute on house-hold chores in Patara village in the district, police said on Saturday.
    
Police said Phoolchandra Sonkar got angry with his wife Suman after she ignored his request to help him in repairing a
cot and started beating her with the iron rod lying nearby.

Suman died on the spot, they said, adding Sonkar too committed suicide by consuming poison.
    
Both the bodies have been sent for postmortem and an investigation is on.
    
The couple are survived by two children-- Kajal (7) and Ankit (5) who were at home when the incident took place.
