Taking strong exception to Sonia Gandhi's reported demand that the Gujarat government should give an account of the central funds used in the state chief minister Narendra Modi on Sunday questioned the congress president's knowledge of the state government's functioning.

"Sonia, when she came to Gujarat couple of days ago, said that Modi should give account of the funds that my government had received from the Centre," Modi said addressing an election rally here.

"The question indicates that she does not have primary knowledge of how the government functions. I would like to tell Sonia that our (state) government has to send expenditure reports to the Central ministry every two months. Why don't you open those reports and have a look instead of asking us," he said.

He also accused the Congress of allegedly messing up the economy like "termites" while urging people to bring LK Advani led-NDA to power.

"We need to get rid of the termites called Congress and bring LK Advani led-NDA to power and put the country on the path to progress," he said.
