After battling the Sri Ram Sene on the street, the torchbearers of the Pink Chaddi Campaign are facing an onslaught by the moral police online.

Hackers have taken over the Facebook group of the Consortium of Pub-going, Loose and Forward Women and have been posting derogatory messages against women behind the movement.

“We’ve been hacked regularly,” said Nisha Susan, the Delhi-based journalist who started the campaign. “The attackers have renamed the group, posted obscene messages, threatened me with rape and death right in the group’s description, posted phone numbers of the other women in the campaign... uploaded obscene images.”

She found she could remove the unwanted elements from the group except for its name, changed for the nth time to ‘A Good Bong is a Dead Bong’. “I wrote to Facebook again...Then Facebook issued me a warning that I had violated the terms of service, I guess because of the name of the group. The next thing I knew was that my account was disabled,” Susan said. “And this morning (Wednesday), the group disappeared.”
