Priyanka Vadra wanted in Rajasthan

Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s daughter and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s sister Priyanka Vadra has become a much sought after star campaigner among Congress workers in Rajasthan, especially after her recent visit to Amethi.

Workers and some office-bearers involved in campaigning now hope to see her visiting the state and hear her jibes against former BJP CM Vasundhara Raje, which they feel will give a boost to electoral activities in the state.

Congress leaders say Priyanka’s remarks in Amethi that she was not averse to joining politics, and her retorts against Narendra Modi, have made party workers realise that she can lead the campaign from the front, besides Sonia and Rahul.

“Soniaji has already refused to accept the prime ministerial post, and Rahulji has clearly mentioned that he was not a contender for the post this time, while projecting Manmohan Singh. We are just hoping that all three members of the Gandhi family campaign for the party in the state this time,’’ said Rama Bajaj, Congress Mahila president for Jaipur Rural.
