The BJP is planning to conduct a survey to seek voters’ opinion on whether the millions of rupees hidden in the Swiss bank should be brought back to the country.

The BJP’s PM candidate LK Advani had writtento prime minister Manmohan Singh in 2008, asking him to take steps so that the black money could be brought back to the country and same fund could be used for development.

If this were not enough, the BJP is also trying for a national consensus to deal with the problem of Varun Gandhi. The party is now planning to build a national momentum and with the help of people make the other Gandhi a political hero.

“We want to take the opinion of the people on these issues. We are asking if they want their own money back and which political party, in their opinion, would be able to bring that wealth back,” said Rajeev Arora, a senior BJP official.

The questions raised in the survey are: Do you know that India’s black money is deposited in Swiss bank? Do you agree with LK Advani that the money should be brought back to India? Is the black money in Swiss Bank a reason for corruption and terrorism? Do you think that the black money would help clear India’s debts?

Senior BJP leaders want to make this a national issue hoping to ride high on the wave and enter parliament.

“The sample size of the survey would be two crore and this questionnaire would be distributed by our party workers to the voters who would fill these forms and give their views on these important issues that concern our country all the more in the present circumstances,” said Arora.
