The three-day European Masters exhibition recently held in Mumbai by Marigold Fine Art (MFA) gallery from Delhi turned out to be a bigger success than the one held in the capital.

Art lovers and students were presented with original artworks of renowned artists such as Picasso, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, etc.

Both hand signed lithographs by Picasso were sold for around Rs10 lakh each. Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory fetched around Rs25 lakh.

Others pieces of art that caught the buyers’ fancy were Jorg Doring’s mixed technique canvas displays of Marilyn Monroe. David Kracov’s Disney- inspired sculptures also found many takers. The general selling graph was between Rs3 lakh and Rs30 lakh.

Besides, the works of Stephen Cipre (Gandhi), Patrick Hughes’ witty illusionary paintings, Andy Warhol’s signed Marilyn Monroe print and Arman’s paintings also.
A spokesman for Marigold said that a new shipment had arrived containing the works of Patrick Hughes, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and David Kracov for the Mumbai show.

“The exhibition was very well received in Mumbai. We had around 800 visitors during the three-day exhibition. We had students from art, graphic schools/colleges who had come to view European modern and contemporary art in Mumbai for the first time”, said Gaurav Assomull, CEO of MFA
