Sordid saga continues: NRI rapes his minor daughter

A few days after the arrest of a man in Amritsar for raping his daughter for eight years, an NRI has been arrested for raping his 13-year-old daughter.

The incident took place in Falipta village, near Phillaur, where Surinder Singh alias Chinda, who has been living in the UAE for the last 12 years, allegedly assaulted his daughter.

Surinder’s wife heard muffled sounds in the room and rushed to help, but by the time she managed to break in to the room, her husband had already raped their daughter, police said.

According to Seeta Devi’s complaint, Surinder was in a drunken state when he brutally beat her up and then raped their daughter. Phillaur DSP Sandeep Sharma said that medical examination had confirmed rape.

Meanwhile, one of the two Mira Road girls who were allegedly raped by their father on the advice of a tantrik recalled the horror in an interview with a TV channel: “The abuse started when I was quite young. The tantrik and my dad forced themselves on me, usually after spiking my glass of water. I protested but they said it would ruin the family if I refused,” she said.

She also said she wanted her tormentors hanged. “They targeted my sister and she told me what happened with her.”
