21-year-old victim of incest narrates ordeal. Police say the couple and tantrik also indulged in group sex.
While disturbing details of the alleged sexual abuse of two girls by their father and a tantrik emerged on Thursday, a day after DNA first reported the case, officers said the older victim, aged 21, kept telling police that “I want to kill my parents”.
Police said the father, the tantrik and the girls’ mother, who has been booked as an accessory to the crime, admitted having indulged in group sex.
The 21-year-old, who was allegedly raped by Kishore Chauhan, 60, and Hasmukh Rathod, 60, the tantrik, over nine years, broke down several times while narrating her ordeal to the police, said Maithili Jha, the officer heading the investigation. She said that through the better part of her interview, the 21-year-old, who was first raped when she was 12, kept talking of wanting to kill her parents.
The girl gathered the courage to seek help from her maternal uncle Vijay Parmar after her father allegedly turned on her sister, 15, three months ago. The girls’ interviews with the police continued till 3am on Thursday, said Parmar.
What left him numb, he said, was that his sister, Anjana, didn’t stop her husband from raping their daughters and even allegedly encouraged them to have sexual intercourse with the tantrik.
Jha told DNA, “Compared to the 21-year-old, the younger sister faced sexual abuse only once or twice. Our enquiries have revealed that the mother herself took the younger daughter to Rathod’s house.”
The tantrik had told the couple that this would bring prosperity to the family.
A city court on Thursday remanded all three of them in police custody till March 21. They have been booked under sections 376 (rape), 377G (rape on minor) and 34 (crime committed by common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to Jha, the couple hails from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Chauhan was based in Delhi. He moved to Mumbai after marrying Anjana. Rathod, the tantrik, was known to Anjana much before she married Chauhan, the police said.
"All three have also admitted that they were involved in group sex activities before they began subjecting the elder girl to sexual abuse," Jha said. "Rathod could have enticed the Chauhans, both on grounds of tantrik healing as well as providing financial prosperity. He chanted mantras before indulging in sex, and most of the time, Rathod’s Andheri residence was the location where the abuse took place.”
The elder girl appeared for her SSC exams but later dropped out. The 15-year-old goes to a CBSE school and is currently in standard X. It is, however, unclear if she is appearing for the board exams currently underway.
