Fans in Italy have proved their craze for British footballer David Beckham when they showed up in a huge number at the launch of his new football boots.

Beckham, 33, who was in Milan to unveil Adidas' new Predator PowerSwerve DB boot, had a huge crowd waiting for just a glimpse of him as he made his way to the city's store.

The ace footie wore an AC Milan training top, and he chatted with fans and signed football shirts and boots for the excited crowd, which had plastered 'I Love You Beckham' posters covered in hearts and kisses on the walls outside.

Beckham, who was on-loan from LA Galaxy, was stunned with the turn out, and said that he was in awe of the support he had been getting ever since his arrival.

"It's fantastic. I did not expect so many people. Since I've arrived, it's been wonderful," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

"When I arrived, they told me that I was coming to Milan for publicity.Instead I came and I love playing in this team."

"Being in a club like this and the experience is so positive, not only inside but also outside," he added.
