Sanjay Dutt's supporters and fans here waiting eagerly for him at the Ganne Wali Gali where the Samajwadi Party's Lok Sabha candidate from the city was to make a trip on Wednesday, turned angry when he failed to show up there allegedly due to security reasons, vowing not to vote for him.

Dutt was scheduled to visit house number 102 at Ganne Wali Gali (lane) at about 9 am, where his father Sunil Dutt resided for over four years in 1949 but was allegedly denied permission by the district administration due to security reasons as a large number of people had gathered there.

The entire locality gathered at the gali (lane) to have a glimpse of the film star with garlands and pagdi to honour and welcome Dutt, who reached the locality at around 12 noon but could not enter the lane.

After he was allegedly denied permission by the district administration to visit the lane, he returned to the Samajwadi Party office to meet party workers and address them.

This irritated his supporters and fans who had gathered there since morning and they started shouting slogans - "Sanjay Dutt murdabad" and threw pagdi and garlands into a nearby drain in utter frustration.

They also vowed not to vote for Dutt in the coming Lok Sabha polls besides tearing his posters.

"We have been waiting for Dutt since morning and he did not turn up. This shows that he did not care for the feeling of the Lucknowites. We are very depressed with his act and now we will not vote for him", a local named Mohammad Sayeed, said.
