A sari in return for a chaddi. That’s going to be the embattled Sri Rama Sene’s strategy to fight the Pink Chaddi campaign.

The outfit has started buying khadi saris to be given “with love” to those who send Sene chief Pramod Mutalik undies in protest against his anti-Valentine’s Day stance.
Muthalik told DNA on Tuesday that he pitied the “misguided” youths who were playing into the hands of pseudo-secularists.

“If they send ‘chaddis’, they will only expose their vikruti (perversion) not sanskruti (culture),” he said. “Perhaps they have been raised in such a culture, which we want to correct.”

Muthalik said they would keep a stock of khadi saris. “Our mothers and sisters wear saris and are proud of it. Well-meaning Westerners too have remarked on how elegant women look in the sari,” he said.

Rubbishing the statement of RSS leader K Narhari saying there was an intelligence report suggesting Muthalik was working to a plan scripted by the Congress in Karnataka, the Sene chief said they had no plan to contest the elections. “We are interested in spreading our message at a pan-India level,”  he said.
