Man batters daughter's lover to death

Furious at finding his teenage daughter in a "compromising position" with a youth, a man battered them with bricks, killing the young man.

The girl has been admitted in a critical condition at a local trauma centre.

Lala Ram, who was posted as a guard at an underconstruction house in Hayat Nagar locality in Lucknow, found the youth, Ram Gulam Lodh, in a "compromising position" with his daughter. Enraged, he attacked them with bricks.

Senior superintendent of police Akhil Kumar said Ram Gulam was in a relationship with the guard's daughter.

Lala Ram has been detained by the police.
