'Tata Jagriti Yatra' to inculcuate leadership qualities among youth

The Tata group and Jagriti, an NGO of ex-IITans, have joined hands to launch 'Tata Jagriti Yatra 2008' with the purpose to promote entrepreneurship amongst youngsters.

JAMSHEDPUR: The Tata group and Jagriti, an NGO of ex-IITans, have joined hands to launch 'Tata Jagriti Yatra 2008' with the purpose to promote entrepreneurship amongst youngsters keen to initiate social change.

About 350 'yatris' (travellers), between 18-25 years of age, have been selected for the 18-day train journey which started on Saturday from Mumbai and conclude on January 11, a Tata release said.

Managing director, Tata Services limited, TR Doongaji said, "the Jagriti Yatra concept will not only provide an opportunity to the yatris to see India at its dynamic and vibrant best, but will sensitise them about areas of concern and important issues facing the country which can be addressed through responsible entrepreneurial conduct".

The Tata Jagriti Yatra 2008 train will travel across India covering 8000 km and halt at 13 different destinations - Tiruvananthpuram, Kanyakumari, Pundicherry, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Delhi, Tilonia and Anand.

Participants will interact with real heroes who have brought positive changes to India during the tour.
