HYDERABAD: The Mumbai terror carnage was organised by Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and there was enough evidence to indicate this, a former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) official has said.

"There is enough evidence that LeT has organised the Mumbai attacks. This has also been pointed out by security agencies of different countries," former R&AW official B Raman said.

Raman said Pakistan should  stop "pretending" that they are banning the terrorist group and should take concrete action to dismantle terror infrastructure in its soil.

He said that India need to take "retaliatory action" against Pakistan if it fails to act against the terror groups operating from its soil and trying to destabilise India.

"We must suspend all trade with Pakistan and India should make it clear to Pakistan that there cannot be normal relations with them unless concrete action is initiated against LeT, by dismantling its infrastructure," Raman said addressing a symposium on 'Changing Faces of Terror--Response of the Nation' here on Saturday.

The eminent security official said, "India was depending too much on US for its fight against terror despite "the fact that US will not come to our rescue".

Raman an expert on terrorism-related issues said that the terrorists targeted the business hotels, and wanted to create a sense of doubts among the investors that India was not safe for investment.

Failure of intelligence and physical security resulted in Mumbai attacks, he said adding it is a pre-cursor for other attacks in urban areas particularly in South India.
