Two killed in missile strike in Pak

Islamabad, Dec 16 (PTI) Two persons were killed and three others injured in a missile strike by a suspected US drone in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region, official said today.

The officials told TV channels that they believed a missile fired by a drone had struck a home in a village in the restive North Waziristan Agency.

The local political administration in the semi-autonomous region is yet to confirm the identities of the two dead persons.

Pakistan's tribal belt, described by Western powers as a safe haven for Al Qaida and Taliban, have witnessed a series of drone attacks in the past few months.

Pakistan has angrily opposed the strikes, terming them a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
