Army takes senior citizens near LOC on Delhi tour

With an aim to create awareness about the developments in the country, army has taken 20 senior citizens living near the LOC in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on a week-long tour of New Delhi.

JAMMU: With an aim to create awareness about the developments in the country, army has taken 20 senior citizens living near the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on a week-long tour of New Delhi.
    
The tour was flagged off at Bhimber gali in Poonch district by the Army commander there yesterday, defence sources said here on Sunday.
    
The tour will provide an opportunity to these people to learn about the vibrant, fast developing, diverse and yet united India.
    
These senior citizens will visit various historical places in Delhi and Ajmer, they said, adding that the citizens will also be given an exposure to industrial and other developments in and around Delhi.
    
This tour was expected to provide a new chapter in the lives of the senior citizens and their families, the sources added.
