Oh, My God!! starts with ‘God’ talking to us about how people have always been pataoing him in “mandir, masjid aur chaarch”. The pronunciation can’t be helped really, since the one saying these dialogues happens to be Saurabh Shukla. Can’t place him?

Think Kallu Mama from Satya. Yes yes, the fat, balding, obnoxious-looking gangster who even had a song dedicated to him in the cult flick. How the same actor could even be considered to play ‘God’ is a question we better not rack our brains over. We can leave that effort to decipher why this film was made in the first place.

OK. Small, meaningful cinema is in. Bheja Fry opened the gates for film-makers who wanted to make something ‘different’, could ensure they do so within a decent budget and suddenly found corporate houses ready to back anything that moves on screen.

So we have actors like Vinay Pathak bombarding cinema halls in ‘hero’ roles every three weeks. Films with scripts that would be rejected by channel heads even for one hour tele-shows are being turned into two-hour sleepathons. And production values that are an eye-sore is what you get in exchange of the humongously over-priced multiplex ticket. And is there anything you get in return?

A few winks may be, but that’s about it! Let’s not bother about the story of this ‘different’, tackily produced, badly written, boring film.

If you thought God Tussi Great Ho was a poor remake of Bruce Almighty, then nothing can prepare you for this one. Hopefully, the makers are prepared for the film to meet with the disastrous fate it will. Even god may not be able to change that.
