SRINAGAR: Frustraing militants' plan to set off explosions, the army on Friday recovered a huge cache of explosive material from a hideout in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Giving details, the spokesman said troops, based on specific intelligence input regarding movement of some hardcore militants, laid ambushes on the night of October eight.
A thorough search of the area in the morning resulted in the recovery of 30 remote control devices for IEDs, 30 electric detonators, 50 meter Cordex wire, eight packets (each containing 10 detonators with wire), 19 Batteries, 35 small batteries, 40 Pistol Rounds and two Pistol Magazines from the cave hideout.
