VADODARA: Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has appealed to the people of Gujarat to extend support in the relief work in flood-hit Bihar.
Describing the state as known for its philanthropy, the BJP leader asked the people of the state to take up short and long term projects to provide assistance to the flood affected people in Bihar.
Coming down heavily against the opposition for blaming the Bihar administration for its failure to address the situation, Sinha said "this is not a time for making such accusations".
Thanking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for providing food grains and financial aid to Bihar, Sinha also lauded the efforts of various state heads and Bollywood personalities including actor Amitabh Bachchan for their contributions.
Sinha also asked NGOs to ensure proper distribution of relief material.
A permanent solution would be found for the problems caused by the changes in the course of river Kosi, especially after the floods, Sinha said while addressing a meeting organised by Baroda round table-49 yesterday.
