The late Scarlett Keeling’s (the British teenager was found murdered in Goa) mother Fiona MacKeown has agreed to meet the filmmakers of Rave Party, a movie based on her daughter’s horrific rape and killing in Goa. The film is also supposed to dissect the drug scene in the state.

Director Prabhakar Shukla says it is great news for the film. In a mail to the filmmakers of the movie, Fiona supposedly wrote, “I agree that a meeting would be necessary.” Fiona had earlier expressed reservations over the title of the film and also the inclusion of a character that would be based on her late daughter.

“It is a very sensitive film. We wanted to include her side of the story and also consider her opinion on the character that we will present as her daughter. This will give our film a balance,” reveals Prabhakar.

He adds, “Our meeting will also reduce post-release tensions and avoid getting into legal trouble. We will have the authentic account  both from the police and Fiona.”

In February 2008, Scarlett was found dead on Anjuna beach in Goa. Police had then said that she had died due to accidental drowning.  Fiona however claimed that her daughter was attacked and a second post-mortem was conducted. It revealed that she was raped and killed. It was reportedly stated that Scarlett was given Ecstasy, cocaine and LSD on the night she died.
