Sikh voices back N-deal

CHANDIGARH: After Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee president PS Sarna appealed to the eight Akali Dal MPs to support prime minister Manmohan Singh on the nuclear deal, some Sikh organisations have also voiced their support to the deal. Sarna suggested Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti issue an edict (hukamnaama) to Akali Dal MPs to back the PM.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the core committee of the Dal has been called on Tuesday to discuss the issue, even as CM Parkash Singh Badal reiterated his party would unflinchingly stand by the BJP.
