Dr Mohan Subedar, father of Meghna Subedar, the 28-year-old software engineer who was recently found dead on Candolim beach in Goa, is unhappy with the police investigations.

“It has already been over two months, and the police have done nothing. If they go on like this, then I will plead for a CBI investigation,” Subedar said. According to Subedar, police is taking an easy way out by saying that Meghna committed suicide. “This is the easiest thing to do as they won't need to do any hard work. If somebody wants to commit suicide, why will he go to some other place? In Scarlet Keeling's case too, the police initially said that she committed suicide,” he said. On April 16, I told the police that Meghna had used her ICICI ATM at Madgao on April 15. But they took almost twenty days to reach there,” Subedar said. Meghna's body was found on June 24, and according to post-mortem report, it was eight days old.

On June 14, police called three persons who were using Meghna's cell phone. But they were left after the enquiry. “I can't understand why police did not arrest them. There must be some link between them and my daughter's death,” said Subedar. He said he was very hurt about what was being said about Meghna's relationship with her parents.  “We use to talk with each other almost everyday,” he said.
