After the likes of Mimoh Chakraborty and Sikander Kher, another newcomer is knocking hard on Bollywood’s door.

Actor Alekh Sangal, son of veteran filmmaker late Ambrish Sangal, is all set to debut in the film Summer 2007 which is releasing this Friday. His name is new to Bollywood, but nevertheless, not obscure at all. He has vowed to make audiences acknowledge his talent with his power-packed performance in his debut movie.

When asked about the pre-release jitters, the confident boy quips, “Having seen the movie, I don’t want to sound a braggart. But I am not experiencing anxiety pangs at all. In fact, I am rather keen on knowing what the audience response would be like.”

Elaborating more about the film, the adventure freak says, “Summer 2007 is about what happens to five youngsters when they are detached from their comfort zone and planted in the rural countryside. Everyone discovers more about the others and their companionship strengthens.”

Debuting in a film that has many other actors and the subject of which revolves around the enlightenment and empowerment of youth, sounds like a tough decision. Is he geared up to face the consequences?

“It’s a clear cut choice and it’s an important movie wherein there is a message for the youth. I am sure people would enjoy the film. It really didn’t matter to me that there are four others in the film because my own character is very clearly etched out. I liked working with Sikander Kher and Gul Panag. It was a learning experience and the movie turned out to be very good.”

He has done theatre workshops with the Yatri group, Joy Fernandes, Mona Ambegaonkar, Rita Ganguly, Cymbeline Buhler (U.S.A) to hone his acting skills.
